There's something about the 917 that makes you think it's a lot bigger than it really is, especially the short-tail version. But if you see it with a human of known size, you realize that it's really, really low to the ground and you only think it's really wide, because you think it's taller.

The neck issue was scarier because I went all tingly from the neck down and I could have ended up in a scooter, but the disc hurt like my left leg was having a ******g baby!
Anecdote: Once, in my 50s, I got worked up for a positive TB test and the infectious disease doc and I walked down to radiology to try and get a blinded reading of my chest X-ray, viz., from someone who didn’t know about the test result, which was in the order. The man looked at it for 10 seconds and asked if we were interested in the granulomas (TB) or the dramatic spine degeneration, which was literally from stem to stern.
Thanks, I have indeed managed well.

exactly! My reasoning thus far was: I received a complimentary oil change offer from the dealership. But they didn't mention the 3 week wait. So now I have 5k miles on it and it's time for the change. So to prevent problems with the warranty I elected to get sodomized by Uncle Ed. So I think from now on I'll be back under my car every 3 to 5 thousand miles changing my own oil. I'll have to fight it out with the dealer if I need warranty work if it comes to it.

The good and the bad today:
Bad - Scheduled for an eye injection this morning.
Good - I get to stay in the AC instead of mowing the lawn in 97Ί temps.

Wordle 4/6
Blood/urine test tomorrow at 7 AM, thankfully. No coffee allowed. Testing in part for glucose and cholesterol.
And then off to the city for a few things I need one 1 x 6 white pine board. I know of one place to buy it. Not convenient. Caribbean pine is everywhere and so full of pitch as to be unworkable with hand, or power tools.

I have a crummy little 3-cyl, 40 hp diesel in the boat. It was made by Shibaura, sold by Perkins, and painted green, marinized, and attached to the saildriveby Volvo-Penta. This provenance is very carefully hidden by V-P so they can sell you parts and consumables at a 200% premium. Their oil filter goes for, maybe, $28 with exorbitant shipping if you really search high and low and there is seemingly no generic! If you know the Perkins model #, as probably 1/10th of owners do, suddenly theres a world of OEM and quality generics for 6-10 bucks.

We'll have the same hot and humid weather today, too. My son's school is one of several in the district that isn't fully air conditioned, so they decided on distance learning for today, since they're already set-up for it, thanks to the pandemic.
I already got my little daily ride in, more because of schedule than to avoid the heat.

Oh, and yesterday I received an email from Lake informing me that they didn't have the shoes to fill my order.
They offered an additional discount on the black version, but I informed them that I'm too fancy for that.
When I asked how they could be short of inventory, when there were 3 or 4 pair available when I placed the order, I was told that they were removed from inventory because of blemishes. Well, **** - I'm all about the cosmetic blem discount! I told them that I'd be more interested in white cosmetic blems than pristine black; they were going to check with their warehouse in Europe about the nature of the blemishes and get back to me.

This was supposed to be my final covered bridge snack stop spot. Wonder if it was destroyed by flooding.

I can't say that I've noticed a difference, in terms of fueling. If I don't go out fasted, I'll do my typical breakfast of a couple of eggs and a small bowl of oatmeal. It's just the water and electrolytes requirements that go through the roof, for me.

Cold cereal and maybe a banana. When we used to motorcycle in the desert there was a tiny cafe run by 2 older women and we would wait in line for a table there. I would get a huge plate with eggs, sausage, hash browns, and biscuits with gravy. I couldn't do that now.

Edit: I just got the same email.
I told them to cancel my order.

I wound up short on electrolytes on a before breakfast ride the other day. I only drank water and it was warm out. Legs cramped up soooo bad. Luckily I was only 2 miles from home, so grinded it on out. Chugged a litre of coco water and my traditional scoop of whey in 8oz milk, then all was good, like it never happened.
