Can body type determine cycling success...

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sprinter. Too much mass to carry up a mountain.

Neither. Muscle mass does not equate to muscle tone, or more importantly, cardiovascular fittness.

Neither.

He's a body builder. Lots of useless muscle mass. He's probably really good at resistance training.

Not meaning to pee on anyone's parade but is this not a really inane and transparent question?
In what sector of life and performance does body type not play a very important role.

That's not his body type. That's enhancing drugs and abnormality.

With legs like that he's probably afraid to drop his pants around the ladies. Just think how small his junk looks up beside those legs. The ladies would be rolling on the floor with laughter!
