Fork fix
Can this fork be fixed. Long story on why i would like this particular fork fixed but i will spare the details. It is on an '84 mercier.

I have straightened a lot of forks. I think that one is a write-off. The buckling is too severe for me. Yes, it can be bent back into shape, except the part that is buckled will still be buckled. It's not going to be nearly as strong as it was.

Fix would require un-brazing the bent fork legs from the crown, replace with new legs. While it is possible, unless you can do the work yourself, probably more economical to just find a different fork.

While in principle the blades could be cold-set back into alignment, you've got some serious rust on those blades. Blade replacement is a possibility, but it's likely more cost effective and safer to replace the whole fork, either with an off the shelf fork or one custom built to match the original.

I like the engraving on the crown, but it would be a lot of work to take that fork apart.
