Pizzaman and friends breakaway at Sea Otter Circuit Race
Heavily inspired by carpediemracing's videos, but amateurish in comparison. This is from the M35 1/2/3 Sea Otter Circuit Race.
The video shows some of the moves and counter-moves that led to a successful breakaway. It's rare that a single brute force attack works, seems like an accumulation of moves eventually makes the field give up.
Before the video start below, there was another 5-7 minutes of back and forth that softened up the field.

Wow. I've always wondered how auto racing on the Laguna Seca was, and now I know what bike racing is like. Good work!

Wow, that's fast. I hope cat 5 isn't like that or I'm not so sure about racing.

thanks for posting. looks like 3 of the 4 races i've done this year, in position but missing the decisive move ...
so that's the corkscrew? cool, looks like a fun course, the kind that's difficult, fast, somewhat technical but no need for brakes!

No sarcasm. Not that organized? I lol'd. I really want to race, I've been killing myself training lately. I think it is time to branch out from 'cross.

That's a really cool video... I recognize that course from playing Gran Turismo on the PS2! Cat 1/2/3 looks tough. That's some high wattage you guys are doing on some of those hills.

lol
Cat 5 in California is always a group of really strong guys towing around a big bunch of newbs who eventually all melt into puddles of their own filth... and then the next day talk about how they almost had the sprint because they don't realise they were lapped, ha ha lol.. I know from experience!!

Its funny because that guy who's never raced was all freaked out that the Cat 5 races may be like that. And then you, an experienced racer, flatly says "its not". End of discussion. Like, no need to worry, cat 5's aren't that fast. Believe me, you won't go that fast...etc

Anyway, back on topic... SteelerHoo, what did you use to add the captions, and it would have been neat to see the grade on the climb.
