Hello From The Land Of Cheese :-)
Mid 60's guy here, mostly a casual 1x7 city bike rider seen klunking around with panniers to fetch groceries, meandering through parks and if the traffic is crazy and there's no bikelane... on the sidewalk. If they try to write me a ticket for being over 16 I'll ask them to invert the numbers and give me a pass, LOL. Started on a newspaper bike in the 60's but "inherited" my brother's Schwinn Varsity (with a whopping TEN speeds) in the early 70's. Spent all of my spare change on down bars, several rolls of bar tape (because I got it wrong several times) and a genuine Brooks saddle which I found out the hard way... should not be left outside, ouch. A few doors down a Gitane shop opened up and I mowed lawns until I could get a "real" bike. The owner took mercy on me and started showing me how to do maintenance and here I am 50 years later dreaming of my next fabrication or mod. Currently modifying a Framed Twenty9er to a 2x3 for bombing around the neighborhoods. Also have a Bianchi Milana woman's model, you know, just in case that happens in my life again. Gotta be optimistic, right?
