DK Six Pack

Hey I have a 2004 DK Six Pack

https://www.bikepedia.com/Quickbike/B...e#.UQi6nI5hHLs

Just wanted to hear some opinions from around here, whether it's a decent bike and how much it's worth, etc.

It's the only bmx I've had so I don't know how it compares to others

Back in the day it was one of the better bikes for the money. By todays standards/technologies its pretty far behind, but it should still hold up just fine to abuse.

Do you think it's worth upgrading parts on it or would I be better off selling/trading it and starting with something else?

If it's worth upgrading, which parts would be the most effective to upgrade?

Theres really nothing that can be upgraded to make it substantially better. Its just an old bike, and the parts are a little heavier. But if you really wanted to put money into it, I personally would buy things in this order: Wheels (smaller toothed driver), sprocket, crankset/bb, bars. Those few things should make the bike more comfortable for what you want to do with it, and should shave a few grams too.

But at the same time, putting that much money into an old bike isn't always worth it. So really its all up to you.

Mid-school bikes are a tough sell- they're instantly recognizable as old by their larger front sprocket. That said, this would be a great bike for an up and comer, especially with the three piece cranks, and should be able to get around $150 on craigslist in a relatively short amount of time.

BMX bikes are a tough one to get a lot of value out of, there are just too many boutique (FBM, Kink, Eastern...) bikes that are popping up on CL being sold by riders who are finally old enough to buy a car and are looking to get whatever they can out of them as quickly as possible.

Yeah I would be happy with around $150 for it, I paid around I think $220 5 or 6 years ago. I think with what Street Rider said too, it makes more sense to buy something newer and put some money into that instead.

Just be wary on CL, and do plenty of research before you actually buy something. You want to make sure you get the most for your money.

I'll make sure I post before I buy anything.

Just posted my Six Pack but I think it'll take a while to sell
