it feels great. its alot like the p.1 but its alot shorter. i can definatly tell a difference between steel and alum. it spins nicely, and the tables get super tight. it manuals great and the low top tube allows for easier no cans. it was definaly worth the money, and the only thing left to get is chain tugs.

hey nice bike! do you know anything about the Vagrant by them? i found out transition frames are made by astro in vietnam. do the welds and everything look nice on the bike? does it seem to be made nicely?

i dont really no much about the vagrent, sorry. but yes, the welds are very nice, and neat. i should be getting some pics or at least some vid. this weekend, and ill post it up.

I own one (TOP) and have another on order (Dirtbag) they are really well made, the welds are like most big companies, the welds are large and not grinded down. That means nothing to me, but they are very solid, have an amazing reputation and are run by two genuinely nice guys. Not to mention a solid warranty.

Is there any way you can get a TOP for somewhat less than $600 CDN. Cuase I think that's a little too much for a hardtail. Not that I am not saying that it isn't a great bike.

i really want a vagrant, but since i already have a hardtail, i think my next bike will be a dirtbag. the vagrant looks soooooo nice imho.

and as for the vietnam thing, i actually believe they're made in taiwan?

i searched the whole taiwan thing and the best i could make out is the fact they moved a few years ago to vietnam from taiwan...but i could be wrong.

After looking at the dirtbag, Im convinced I could build a freeride bike equivelant to any made by kona and trek and save money. Considering Ill have a job soon, Im thinking a dirtbag would be awesome. The question is, should I get an xc bike or fr first. Ill contemplate on this matter for the next 3 weeks until I get a job.

I usually leave that answer to the person, but some things to consider

1 - do you live in an area where the fr bike could be used enough to make it worth while. Do you have enough terrain?
2 - do you care if you are going to be slow going up hill? FR bikes can pedal but generally suck at it

I am lucky, I live in an area where I can honestly have one bike, a fr bike, and still have 100 trails I could ride. If you only have one fr trail than personally, I wouldn't buy a fr bike.

Yea, mostly just whatever is at montara. But I really just want to go to montara and ride all those trails all the time. Ive been wanting a long travel bike for a long time. I don't know though. I know they aren't efficient uphill pedalers, as long as they can slowly get up the hill its all good.

The other reason I buy transition now is because of the warranty and you are supporting the little of the bike world. That just feels good

So you bought the complete? I was thinking buying the frame would be fun, then I could figure out how to put a bike together. But seriously, I just hate that green, its so army/boy scoutish.
