Schwinn Paramount Track…help identifying.

Not sure year or builder but would love to know. No visible serial but looks like it may be a repaint and thereby not visible. Parts are campy record hubs and cranks. Duraace seatpost, cinelli stem and bar. Super champion competition rims made in France. Help appreciated.

Much earlier than the repaint, very cool, the real experts should be along shortly.

Looks like a 151 bcd Pista crank. Perhaps there's a date code on it? I think they made those into the 80's.

Edit...wrong, these cranks should be earlier than 1970.

No serial # on that NDS dropout? Looks early or mid 70's to me. Maybe check steerer for a serial #. What does the frame ST measure?)

Did someone take a 70s Paramount with Nervex lugs, swap in track ends, and repaint in 80s style?

That dropout is heavily scored. Those were some beefy dropouts with really great chrome finish when new. Wonder if the serial # was ground off???

Paramounts usually have the serial number stamped into the steerer tube as well as the left dropout. If we could see that someone will be able to date it.

nothing on dropout visible and stem bolt is a little stripped so need to approach that in a more organized matter.

In 1975 I had a choice- 144 or 151 BCD
I went with 151 as I could find more chainrings
the 144 pista at the time would be new production Campagnolo $$$

Get some penetrant in there to help.

Then maybe try off size key for better fit, snug one you can tap in to fix the hole a bit.

The more I look at that track end, the more I conclude it was brazed on at a later point in someone’s garage. The brazing work isn’t exactly refined.

Interesting they didn't fill the HB holes during the repaint.

Looks like round track fork blades but its also drilled very cleanly.

Thats the way Paramounts were back then. Big fills of brass on the fork ends. I always thought it was done for the Lifetime warranty. More is better kinda thing.

Correct, OD can indicate certain tubing that can be a clue.
