SUN TODAY!!!1!!!!

So I ran (or rather walked) errands around town. Living in a small walkable town has its disadvantages. Tomorrow is a return to our regularly scheduled rain.

predictions are all over the place. but over 2+ days, rain, wind & snow, w/ maybe 4"-8" to plow?

the complaint is - it messes with my job, which is scheduling work at schools ...

Went for a longish (for me) run in the rain today. Was just drizzling when I left the house and after about 10 minutes it just started dumping, so I ran over to the city college and did most of it going up and down the parking structure.

How's everyone holding up? Looks like the fire hose wandered a bit more south, away from me; no complaints here.

Running sounds bad enough to me. Running up and down a parking garage sounds to me like a level of hell even Dante did not contemplate.

I slept through the rain and wind, if there was much of any. Woke up this morning to the usual puddle at the base of the back stairs that we get if there's been heavy rain. The dogs are so used to it that the little one just bounds over it from the last step. But it was windy AF on 280 through Burlingame/Millbrae!

Global warming and the resulting changes to climate were apparent in the 1970's, but it is unfortunately human nature to ignore problems until the last moment when it is too late to do much of anything.

I added a French drain uphill from my house a couple years ago and also upgraded the roof drain system so all the water runs out to the road. So even with very heavy rains that have resulted in massive flooding in my area, my house is high and dry. The natural gas powered standby generator keeps the power going even when my local power supplier, the notorious PG&E (otherwise known as Pacific Gas $ Extortion) is unable to provide it.

I've got a new spring in the front lawn. Currently it is draining away from the house, but this is not a good omen.

The driver in the van was killed. The truck had pulled up and another tree fell on that.

That was not a “work crew”. Just a plumbing/heating guy on his way home from work in the company truck. Very sad. But check out the weather today! Light clouds, low winds and a perfect chance to ride. A little chilly but you can handle it. Get out there.

The clouds have parted, and thusly, here comes the icy wind again! This is a winter for the ages...it's dang near almost April and they are talking about freeze warnings. Do I want clouds and gloom, or do I want sun, wind, and icy morning temperatures...hmm...

Ugh. Sorry to see that and hope you didn't have too much significant damage. Such a crazy winter. I can't remember anything comparable here in Nor Cal for quite a long time.

My wife and I just bought a house in the East Bay late last year. We don't have any significant trees around us but we got pummeled.

Yesterday was gorgeous. A bit of "omnidirectional headwind", and enough puddles and streams across the road that my bike got a little dirty, but still WAY better than riding inside!
