Disconnect governor/ speed limiter
Hi everybody, b4 you start freakin out on me i would like to state that i do not use my ebike on the street, I use it at campgrounds and private property only. With that being said, i have a daymak gatto and i love it but would like to get a little more speed out of it. Could someone please help me in locating the speed limiter so that i can disconnect it. Thank you kindly
Mike

Give us a break. It;s just what regulators want us to do. If you want to go faster buy an SUV. I hear they're going cheap right now.

I think you will find that there are a few of us in Ontario that do not support speed modification beyond the legal 32kph. We want the pilot to go through without a lot of added regulation that is unnecessary if we just follow the rules. So you may not get a lot of support in your endeavor. Besides the Gato is not an off road vehicle so it is being used on roads. In the park it would be unsafe for the other residents if you are exceeding the in park speed limits. Most parks I have been in the max is 15kph.

Do you have a cycle analyst on it or something? It may be just something programmed in, which you can readjust.
If not, buy an aftermarket motor controller, and set it up yourself. I honestly have no idea how to "remove" a limitter.
Especially since you didn't show us (daymak gatto?) what system you have, or what is used to limit the motor to begin with.
Also, It may already be pretty much maxxed out with the voltage you have available.

I do. So long as you're not going too fast, like 60kph, going faster than 32kph is fine. I do 40kph on my ebike all the time (pedaling+electric).

I can think of a couple reasons you will not get much help:
1) liability
2) you are a "them" trying to set up more regulations
3) liability
4) the speed is controlled by a regulator/rheostat throttle, and there is no separate governor like on a gas engine

OP you are a big boy (I hope) and if you want to void your warrantee that is your neck. So: 1-866-379-7779 and 416-749-2324 and info@daymak.com Do not ask the techs at Daymak how to bugger your speed controller, they will just note that in your file. See if you can get them to believe that the delimiter has failed and you want help to fix it.

However, if you're running something like a Stand Alone Cycle Annalyst with a DC inline shunt, then yes, you can program in a speed limitation or amp draw limit to prevent from overworking your controller/battery. Most other kits don't use this though.

ebike speed
add a battery & push 60 volts through you controller & you'll go faster & climb hills better but you'll need to charge it separately or get a 60volt charger. Not all controllers will let you do this but it's the best way to go, you'll probably get 8k & climb hills better & last a long time. but if you swap the blue & yellow wires coming out of you'r back tire you'll go a lot faster ( both set's) this is hard on everything! & drains your batteries far faster, inside your controller you'll find a shunt its a metal bridge if you make it bigger you'll increase your off the line power by quite a bit this will draw bigger amp's & has blown my battery pack fuse & no speed increase but I can almost pop a wheelie! Have fun, Play safe & practice stopping on a dime it just might save your life

This is 15 years old I doubt most of these folks are still around and doubt those bikes are even still working. Plus this is a bike forum and that is a motorcycle you have. Enjoy your motorcycle though!
