I just found and cleaned up a Huffy Express single speed bike in what appears to be stock configuration. Brown paint with yellow pin striping and Huffy seat is still in place, (paint like the one in post 90) Sachs rear hub/brakes. It is a 26 inch with nice chrome rims that polished up nicely. Not what folks here call a road bike by any means but fill the ticket for this thread. I also mess with vintage cars and folks that like the cars...gyrate toward these old style bikes also. As always....finding any date or production data on a Huffy has been nil also. I am guessing mid/late 70's

What's the red car on the trailer in the "Wife driving EcoMudder" video on your channel? I first thought Bradly GT but the best glimpse I could get pausing it showed something wider and lower looking.

I've had a few Huffys pass through my hands, but I've never held on to them or put any effort into working on them, aside from 'strip off usable parts and scrap the rest'.
With one exception - a early/mid 80's 'Racing 3.0' I did over and gave to a neighbor kid.

I have a 626 (White and black) in my garage. It was my brother's when he was a teen and I'm still wondering what to do with it.

Huffy Tech Was going to regrease, throw on some cheap rubber and brake pads, and ride it on nasty days but the buttom bracket is so high off the ground that I would need to raise the saddle too high to avoid cramping my knees.
Now I'm out $15.
I also recently sold a Raleigh badged Huffy made hybrid. Not too bad lower end bike for the recreational rider. This one was also $15. Saddle looked like new under the cover but I left it on for the sale.

Not really.....I also purchased 3 pedal tractors, an old school skateboard, and metal toy trucks from the same source and for once made a profit so my Huffy was actually FREE...so there!

My Huffy Concours is currently under a winter restoration. It's been moded over the years and became a touring bike. Will post photos when complete. Downtube is being repainted, stem shifters are being upgraded to downtube shifters. Quick releases are being added. A little bling, all cabling will be red. Trying to keep hardware to period correct.

hey guys
Well, this thread started with a Thunder Ridge so I'll put another one in. I picked this up a week or two ago from the local Volunteers of America thrift store for $20, intending to use it as a donor bike (particularly the wheels) for another bike a friend wants to give me, but after some thinking time I decided to try and bring this one back to life. It looks like it'd sat in a garage or basement for a long time; rust, dust, cobwebs. One shifter was gone, the other was broken, a cable was missing, and the seatpost was stuck. No matter. I figured I could replace those without too much cash outlay. Here's a picture of it more or less as I bought it. Updated pics to come...
cheers

I saw a Huffy TV commercial a week ago or so... Some lady giving her (indestructible) Huffy to her daughter and buying a new Huffy. It was cute.
I don't recall ever seeing a commercial for them... ever.

Huffy Manitoba
I needed something upright while my busted up back healed, but, I despise the "sit up and beg" look and feel of modern hybrids. I found this Huffy on the curb and tore it down, then, reassembled it adding the ugly seat and handlebars, but, oh, it was heaven on my back. I've since gone back to a flat bar.

@GTBruiser, that doesn't look bad at all. What tires did you put on it?
