Broken Spoke on a Mavic Ksyrium Equipe S Wheel
I do have one questions for which I have not been able to find an answer. How do you remove the hub cover of a Mavic Ksyrium Equipe S front wheel? I have a broken spoke on the front wheel and thought the broken spoke could be removed and the new spoke installed on the inside of the hub rim. I now believe I need to remove the hub cover on the outside of the hub to get the broken spoke off and install the new spoke. I tried to pry the hub cover off, but I didn’t want to damage the hub cover in case that was not the correct way to remove it. So, how do you remove the hub cover of a Mavic Ksyrium Equipe S front wheel? Thanks! ;-)

Okay, I tried that. I entered my wheel model number and received “Ksyrium Equipe S (Documentation not available). Still need to know how to remove the hub cover of a Mavic Ksyrium Equipe S front wheel. Any advice would be appreciated! :-(

try checking some other models. Odds are that Mavic has more wheels than hubs, so that same hub may be used on another model wheel.

The spoke cover is a mild press fit plastic cap and prys off. On the Equipes I used to have they were pretty normal straight pull bladed spokes and used normal nipples, so you should be able to replace them more easily. Getting old proprietary mavic spokes can be a PITA, although ebay helps.

Well, the plastic hub cover or cap did just pry off, but not without some effort. The existing (flat) spokes are round, no flat portion, at the head end. So they needed to be installed from the outside of the hub rim, thus having to remove the hub cover. But finding replacement spokes was not a problem. I was able to order front and rear (drive side and non-drive side) spokes from RogueMechanic (www.mavicparts.com).
