I think the continuous HR monitoring is useful, along with related metrics like RHR and HRV. Helps to understand (and ultimately manage) fatigue and related training/workout decisions. These are highly useful tools for many athletes, especially amatuers that have a job and family to juggle in addition to the bike (or whatever their sport is).
For a recreational rider or weekend warrior - probably not worth it. Not that there is anything wrong w that.

It also told me I had Covid when I was still in denial. It's a valuable enough thing I got Mombug one, which she ignores for the most part but I feel better knowing that if she feels off we'll have some info.

There's a big difference between 39x25 and 39x32, such that the triple is not needed. I know lots of people like them, but I'm not a big fan.

So with my fitbit broken, I need a replacement. Looks like it is between an another fitbit. They don’t make mine anymore so it’s the newer version, or a garmin.
I mainly use it to keep track of my sleep, steps, HRV and O2 levels. With that being said, the HrV data my fitbit provided me with was pretty crappy. It was the charge 4, so 4 years old.
I like the idea of a garmin, but they have so many wearables. I’m having a hard time figuring out what I need.
The instinct 2 looked promising but I couldn’t find any data on HRV.
Also, how will using a garmin wearable interact with my garmin connect and my garmin 530 data that is already on the profile?

Thanks, I think that’s the one I will go with, If I can just find it for the right price. Target has the first instinct on sale for 179, but I don’t know how it compares to the #2.

I have the “solar” version of the old one. Good gizmo with bulletproof satnav. Just have to wear it high on the wrist and tight to get reliable HR. The 2 has some new features I’m not familiar with.

Looks like the 2 is more fitness oriented than the first one. I won’t get the solar unfortunately, need to get the price was close to 200 as I can.

Starting this year, each time I get on a bike or trainer for at least 45 minutes and remember to wear it, my employer's health care gives me ~$2.50. Not alot, but 5-7 times a week adds up. Had to go find the thing and get it restarted.
