I believe you are seeking the production quantity for this model and year. Not sure the actual number is available. I am certain that there were thousands produced that year.

My guess: the question "how much did Schwinn sell this bike [for] on 1986??" suggests that the thread starter is looking for the original selling price instead.

Whoopsie! Attention to detail, son, attention to detail! The Traveler was made by Giant or in the Mississippi plant, not sure which. I'm speculating somewhere around $250usd.

I was gifted a new Varsity on my birthday in 1973. I think they were $90 or $100 at the time.

Since he got the conversation started, doesn't hurt to continue it. In 1971 I bought a sierra brown Varsity with the deraileur guard for $100 including tax. It is the bike that started this whole mess. Very crude compared to the bikes today on a bike shop floor, however it was as reliable as the cycles of the moon.

Bikes: A Blue One and 2 Green One's, then there's the Yellow one. And oh, yeah, a Black One. Did I mention the Red One?

full chrome frame was $50 more so regular price was $225.

The 1985 Schwinn Paramount frameset/fork with Stronglight headset had a suggested retail price of $595.
