That's an Adam trail a bike. They made the double for a period of time and stopped production. Used prices went through the roof. Adams has since resumed production. I picked this used off of Craigslist. We use this setup for longer rides to keep everyone together. Needless to say we get noticed when riding this beast.

Here is a picture from the MTR last Saturday, this was from the medium length ride and we had just ridden down a nice little grade. Stoker saw the photographer and I think I was checking our speed 30+ as I remember. Nice ride, beautiful day.

We are new to tandeming-but I grew up with one. This is just prior to leaving for our second ride which was only 22 kms. Our first ride 2 days earlier was 50 kms! No troubles, and I will say that my stoker has fallen right into this hobby! She loves it! This is one of the rare times that a gamble paid off! Now we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the bike from Victoria, BC. Supposed to be here Friday-just in time for the weekend! WooHoo!

A few days ago Sharon and I rode two circuits of the Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park, Mt Desert Island, Maine. Total of 37.7 miles, 2400 ft of climbing. It was great day! Some images form the ride:

Checking tire pressures at the start

Sharon and bike at an overlook

Lunch at Jordan Pond, the Bubbles in the background

The bike at rest, somewhere overlooking the Atlantic Ocean

That looks like a lot of fun! I need to get a picture of my little stoker on here. How old is he, and is he riding a Brooks as well? If so, which model? Thanks.

Thanks Dean. He is four years old. He has been riding tandems with me for a year now, and trailer bikes for about two years. His longest ride with me(so far) is 25 miles.

That is an old Brooks Professional. He hasn't complained yet, but padded britches are on his need list.

The tandem was new to us last spring. Here we are riding around the neighborhood testing stoker fit adjustments before our first organized ride the next day.

Somehow, we've not posted a picture in this thread yet so here goes. I had done a 3/4 century Saturday on my 1950 Norman Rapide, but due to schedules and circumstance Rachel hadn't been out on the tandem with me for about 4 weeks or so. With that being the case and given I didn't want to do a strenuous ride with lots of climbs, we took a ride on the C&O Canal towpath instead. When we stopped to take a couple pictures of the bike someone offered to take a picture of us with the tandem. This is the first picture ever of us in bicycle tights, something I have been resistant to for a long time now. Now I've discovered them, I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner! Go figure...

Did the dog in the trailer shrink when you last washed it?

(ie, Lucky Lab ride and Lab emblems on jerseys, but a tiny terrier in the trailer...)

CycloCross nite

A friend captured us (and our reflection) at our first cyclocross race on our Ventana El Conquistador de Montanas in northwest Ohio. This was our second ride on the bike. We're still getting the hang of fast dismounts/remounts (especially since the bike is much higher off the ground). Our neighbor did a great job building his own 'cross course on his 10 acre property - there were a few hills, a lot of tree log obstacles, and a tricky set of 3 hairpin turns thru the woods. We also raced past their three chicken coops - our first prize tandem division (we were the only entry) was a dozen brown eggs from the hens who were spectators out on the course.

Thedozen eggs has got to be one of the best prizes ever.

One question though, where are the "montanas" in NW Ohio?

It is the model of the Ventana tandem also know as the EDCM on mtn tandem forums. Great off road tandems we have a 26 and 29r what a blast to ride.
