WTB: Universal Super 68 brakes

For a friend's project, looking to get a set of Super 68's. The rear caliper must be the long-reach version. Grungy is OK but prefer not deeply gouged. A full set of calipers with levers, or a set of levers, or a set of calipers -- as long as I get there. Not worried about hoods, I fully expect to need repros for that.

Are these what you are looking for? They are on the ‘Majestic Crapamount’

If these are what you need, they are yours for the price of shipping. Feel free to PM me.

WEll, they certainly say "Super 68", thanks. Any chance you can measure reach, especially the rear caliper? I need 65mm back there, even if I have to file a bit!

Those levers look just right. That said, I recall I may actually have a set already here -- it should have occurred to me to check.. I am planning to at least try to compose an order from Justine's in France over the winter, for stuff for all three of my project resorptions for my friends, and I recall they have the Universal hoods and even the adjusting-barrel caps, so the metal parts is all I really need anyway.

I would be all over that generous offer from AdventureManCO but if that doesn’t work mine would fit the requirements. They’re missing the backside mounting nuts and washers but okay otherwise.

I'll try to measure when I get home. What are the points that I'd be measuring to and from?

Center of caliper mounting bolt axis to center of brake pad bolt axis, 52mm front and 65mm rear -- again, I would not be surprised if I have to file the rear one a bit, even if this should have been the original-spec brakes for the bike.

Well, if it helps to assuage any concern, the chrome steel rims provided horrible braking and removed any semblance of adequacy or competency from said brakes, so no need for alarm

Thanks, all -- it looks like I've found the levers and calipers from forum members.

Thanks, both the levers and the calipers have arrived, so this WTB is "complete".

Right now I have one caliper and one lever disassembled and in the vibratory tumbler w/walnut shells, although they actually look pretty clean as-is; the other caliper and lever left assembled to serve as a reassembly guide.
