Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The whole thing is a little narcissistic if you ask me.

In keeping with the theme of this thread, I just got the Fizik Microtex black/ gray dual bar tape:

For this:

I can't wait to see how this turns out.

Good deal. I have a feeling it may just be my massive gua.... eh.. nah. Actually, the reason why i ask is that I may be interested in that saddle at some point. Thanks for your reply

Additionally, I am jealous of all posters who speak of riding outside, at this point in time. Have fun!

thats what i meant... i just got done installing a veloce bottom bracket, its the only bottom bracket i could find wide enough for my old record cranks.

edit:

i am thinking about replacing my record/chorus 8spd with athena 11 or centar 10 (i have no access to an 11spd chain tool)

Snagged a new 2010 CAAD 9-5 for $900.
Swapping Rival components and all contact point parts from my Van Dessel to the CAAD.
Moving the parts and ENO wheelset from my commuter to my Van Dessel.
Selling the 105 drivetrain, CAAD wheels and components, and my Kona Jake frame.

Net out of pocket should be roughly zero.

Some new bontrager gel cork tape, the super grippy tape i had before was to thin. Finally got to ditch the old square taper sugino that came on my 87 schwinn. Only a parking lot ride but it feels stiffer. For 22 bucks it was a bargain. Now all i need is a 105 FD to finish off the drivetrain swap.
