Cinelli bars found in shed? Sounds like good thread fodder. You're getting close!

Alex, you are gathering all the right stuff! This will be one fantastic example of a fabulously rare and collectable bike - just as Chas just pointed out.

(PS- I want to say an especial thanks to Chas for all the education here - his posts made this thread mandatory reading for any French bike fan!)

took the CT out for a long ride today to determine final placement of the brake levers before wrapping. still need to swap the chain out for a Regina Oro i've had laying around for a while and install the bottle cage straps. pictured are the clinchers i built a while back, still haven't tacked the building of the Super Champions rootboy sent me.

oh, forgot to mention, i replaced the ISCA Selle saddle with a nice used 3ttt identical to the one i got the bike with. also, i replaced the Campagnolo road pedals with Campagnolo pista pedals, my big wide feet are much happier now.

Will do, shnibop. The CT is in Wichita awaiting my move from Chicago. Once established, I will take a few pictures and post them. I have decided to keep the bike and give it a good cleaing and overhaul. It is 100% stock as I bought it, even down to the Clement tires.

+1 We need pics!

BTW nice to see this thread revived; I just re-read it all, one of the coolest threads in the five years I've been on this forum. Lots of stuff way out of my experience and I feel lucky to get to soak it up.

Allow me to share the latest iteration of my CT. I finally put a correct length (for me) stem on it and did the bars in cotton tape.

Just getting this frame all together. Super rare pista frame from '73. Original paint/patina and everything. It was in storage for years. Building near correct track bike for the street. Trying to keep period correct with Campagnolo parts. Again, ordered as a track frame/bike in looks to be '73. Never seen a Moto 'Bic' team pista frame. More pics coming.

Never seen one in person, but have seen at least two come up for sale on the "Bay and have a photo of another.

Yes, this was on the "Bay recently with no bites for a few takes. Worked out a great private deal and some parts. Great vintage bike guy from SF bay. Found this thread after finding the frame. I knew nothing about the Moto 'team' line before. Read all I could about the Moto's ( and Vertyg's site) and very excited to become part of the 'Moto team' family. I was looking for years to build the right track bike that would not be the usual frames. I am here in NYC where day glow 'fixies' are the norm. I am not one of them.

Neat frame, Varoom. How did you date it to 73, if I may ask?
Also, does it have a head badge on it?

I'd like to see this bike with its own thread. In progress pics, etc.

Good move, CV. Cotton is definitely the way to go on these old Motos. (Now your bike feels as good as it looks!)

PS- I'd like to see another beauty shot with a less busy background.

Hi, a little late to this thread. But I too ride my '74 Champion Team. It gives a very stable ride and climbs well too. Your moto looks great! Mine has minimal braze ons. No bottle cage fittings but otherwise very close to yours. Have you repainted and re-decaled?

Welcome to the thread, Xjcountry. Always welcome are guys who own Champion Team bikes! I love mine too.
Can we see some pics of yours? LOTS of pictures.
By the way, if I'm not mistaken, a '74 should have no braze ons whatsoever. Someone might correct me there.
I think the bottle cage mounts on Lynn's nice bike were added later.

It could be a '74, not sure. Not too important to me since it is still a rare CT (from those two years) pista no less. Someone show me another to compare. Was told that was stored for decades, tracked and bought in CA. Def. has track use and not abused. No head badge. Waiting for it to arrive in NY nxt week. Will get good detailed pics. Just waiting to clean/ detail up the frame

You need to use the picture frame icon on the the reply interface, and insert the photo link from your Flickr page. Use the 'URL' tab and unclick the 'retrieve remote file' box. Like so (nice bike btw!):
