If you voted "yes" on this poll, you're promoting dangerous behavior. You're also probably a driver who makes a u-turn at a traffic light with a green left turn signal. It MIGHT be legal, BUT should you really be doing it??

What the hell is this? First you make the same stupid accusation about people who voted "yes" when you've been challenged several times to back that up and obviously can't. Then you assail a legal driving practice that is absolutely expected where I live. There's actually roads here that are obviously constructed so the u turn is the only reasonable way to get to the most popular destination in the area. It also has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the poll question. If all you have is ad hominem attacks, could you at least not make them this idiotic?

This thread should be locked. It's obviously just a vent for your pointless aggression.

Often the right turners opposite of you have a green right turn arrow. Also, you're supposed to "yield" to oncoming right turn traffic. If you are "yielding" to oncoming right turn traffic, you're preventing cars behind you with a green left arrow from proceeding because you're trying to make a u-turn at a traffic light.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAA
Ok, let me wipe the tears of laughter from my eyes long enough to actually reply.
I voted "no" on the stupid poll but I'm definitely a driver who makes legal u-turns. Made one about six hours ago, in fact, and have seen no negative side effects at this time. Any other behaviors you'd like to presumptively accuse us all of before this thread gets locked?

Oh PLEASE don't lock it! So much entertainment. Just let ONE goofy thread exist until it dies of natural causes. Pretty please.

FINALLY something I can agree with.

You're in a world of your own, and most of us here are totally incapable of following your logic.

And yet people do this constantly on many roads. And somehow they manage to work it out with those turning right. It's custom and practice in the United States.

Maybe because they can't, so they resort to an easier option.

Sound familiar?

...I plan on doing this tomorrow morning. I do it every Sunday morning, because it's the only way I can get across the river on my way to the farmers market.
I confess that I've never really considered the possibilities about what might go wrong, as I attempt this legal maneuver. What horrible consequences can I expect in the future ?

You might be saving me from a horrific event, with blood on the road, and people gawking out their windows, as they drive past.

Somehow, you managed to find something even more lame to whine about than the previous ridiculousness.

...you might be responsible for a lot of things. I don't really know.
But you can cross my miserable existence off your list of things you're getting blamed for.

My existence is pretty much on me, miserable or not. So you're good to go, on that front.

Oh no!! You delayed someone else by a handful of seconds while you waited to make a safe and legal turn. How will they ever recover from such a catastrophic turn of events??

I’m starting to wonder if you’ve ever actually ridden a bike or driven a car.

So let's summarize what I believe and have been incessantly attacked about on this thread.

1. Cars with a green light should assume they should keep moving forward unless there is an emergency.

2. You should not stop traffic behind you while attempting to make a U-turn at a green left arrow.

...never mind. I researched it myself and came up with this:

Passive–aggressive personality disorder
...
Grumbling, petty, testy, cranky, embittered, complaining, fretful, vexed, and moody; gripes behind pretense; avoids confrontation; uses legitimate but trivial complaints.
As exemplified here:

This is a difficult disorder to treat.

Psychiatrist Kantor suggests a treatment approach using psychodynamic, supportive, cognitive, behavioral and interpersonal therapeutic methods. These methods apply to both the passive-aggressive person and their target victim
I will assist you by using the behavioral technique of not continuing to respond. All sources report an associated degree of depression, so I guess if you can get out there and get some sunlight and aerobic exercise, you might feel better. I am sorry for your misery. But I'm hoping you'll stop blaming me for it.

SO...you're ok with a car stopping traffic with a green left arrow, just because they're trying to make a U-turn?

Are you aware that this is a public forum open to people around the world? We don’t all live in your time zone.

If it is legal for me to make a u-turn, and I have to wait for it to be clear and safe for me to do so, the cars behind me will be inconvenienced for a few seconds, and I don’t care. You are making a ridiculous complaint…but it’s probably intentional.

Your victim card play has been thoroughly unsuccessful.
