Sks longboard 45 mudguards remove mudflap

As title says, I want to remove rubber midflaps on these fenders. I am not sure this is possible. I cannot figure out what kind of attachment they use. All I know I have them 5 years probably and mudflaps never fell. I would like to know if this can be removed, and possibly later atached again?

The flap is held in place with a plastic "rivet". It's a simple procedure to just cut or grind away one end of the rivet. If you do use a grinder take care to not overheat the fender. Andy (who removes those flaps of most of the fenders he uses)

Looks to me (hard to say because of the dirt and not seeing the other end) like the plastic reusable 'rivets' used in cars. You can remove them by squeezing the spread tips together with pliers.

From the underside, use a nail or a pick and push out the rivet that spreads out the finger-like tabs. From the front side a remove the rivet. A flat bladed screw driver under the rivet head might be useful. It is shaped like a roofing nail.

Back to the backside again, squeeze/compress the finger like tabs and remove the washer being held in place by them.

Then remove the tab insert. Slide the rubber flap off the end of the fender & you are left with a ~1/4 inch hole to do with what you please.

The side that faces the tire.
The thing works like a drywall anchor.

Push out the pin in the middle, then pinch the tabs so they fit through the hole. Replacement is the reverse of removal.

I found it, its really easy and quite a clever system . Still works after years of abuse.
