I have one. Darn nice bike with meh paint at this point.
deserves a refinish.
this frame has the origins of DiNucci design for Specialized that culminated in his much later Anniversary frames he orchestrated.
did not have the loose cash to buy one of those unfortunately.
He had an excess run of those tubes and fittings, has built a few with them. Not cheap and the clock might be running out.

Were the built-in seatstay caps brazed on to the lug, or was the cluster cast as one piece?
It's good to see aluminum forks getting some recognition.

I like mine for the design. Subjectively? Rather ride an early 70's Colnago.

I believe it’s all original. My brother found it for me in Denver from the original owner who said he rode it a half dozen times and then stored it. When I got it I replace the original black anodized stem with a Dura Ace and the black Turbo seat with a white perforated example of the same year stamping. Both are tucked away and will go with the bike when I eventually sell it. It doesn’t have a single blemish in the paintwork. And I believe the tires are original to the bike and still in excellent condition.

I would say the difference would be very noticeable. I think I've got three of those early 90's Allez frames floating around here. The oversize tubing makes them stiffer than a a steel bike with traditional tubing sizes. 700 23 tires are comfortable on my 1985 Allez, not so much on the trio of 93ish Allez frames I have. I noticed the same thing on my 1996 Lemond Zurich. It has oversize tubing as well.
