Yup, steel frame/forks it is. Been an ongoing project the last couple of years and now almost at the end.

Do you have any pics of what you have? My current set-up is pictured below.

Oh, making me jealous with that scenery and mention of long trip. Would really appreciate some close ups of the beast & set-up (looks awesome and my kinda bike). How long was the Spanish trip?

Scott Sub Evo 20

Here's a quick shot of my Scott Sub Evo 20. Had it about 2 weeks and about 200 miles on it. Great bike. If it was 5 pounds lighter it's would be ridiculous.

Been riding my daily commute on this for the past four months and absolutely love it!
Only mod is the saddle - a Rido R2
May need to add some mudguards for winter but an ass saver, saddle bag, water bottle and lights plus a small rucksack are all I really need for now.

I'll play! My daily ride to and from work. It's not the lightest or fastest in the stable but by far the most functional, especially when I add the panniers, so it gets the most mileage these days:

I picked up an old Trek 950 on Craigslist for $35. Didn't really use any of the original parts but had enough on hand to make it a 1x8 drop bar commuter. The gearing is a 38T up front and a 12-21T 8sp rear. The odd curvature of the front mudguard is because I put on an old set of 700cs I've had lying around for a long time. I know the rear derailleur looks awful but I already had it and it works!

Yup! It's an alright bike. Picked it up along with about 20 other bikes and frames and random parts a year or so ago from someone who was selling the lot - you just had to go into the crawl space!

That is an issue that has been repeatedly mentioned in the https://www.bikeforums.net/forum-sugg...tion-here.html thread, but it seems they are unable to find a solution.

Salsa Vaya...commuter/touring/cyclocross

My commuter, it's also my touring and cyclocross bike. I found my orange Vaya by a friend who suggested I check out the Salsa line. I had been searching for a orange Bridgestone XO-1, but decided to go with a new, but similar style of bike.

Latest Update Progress Photos

OK, just a few qualifiers...
1) she's sportin' her mud cleats and still wearing some trail mud (she's a dirty girl)
2) i know the front of the front fender is yanked sky-high... was a quicky-fix
3) yeah i suck at handle-bar taping so i gotta use a lotta "Gorilla Tape"

So there she is in all her (soiled) glory!
