I have ridden with somewhat more alcohol in the system than was perhaps wise...It was all good, after I had burned off enough to be able to ride without wobbling.

Probably is one of the least-wise things a person can do. It's a free country though. I suppose you can if you want to. Just like you can step out in front of a moving train if you want. Probably not good for your health.

Done it all. Offroad in the woods, not in traffic. Funner than hell, even in the rain.

I do not know about Colorado but in many states riding a bike drunk can get you the same ticket as driving under the influence, at least per the law. I decided years ago in my motorcycling days that drinking and two wheels was not a good combination.

1/2 a margarita or half a beer every 5-10 years, I'd say no!

In Germany they will pick your DL when caught riding drunk on a bicycle, provided you have a DL.

I got lectured once by a young female officer who pulled my dog and I over one night. I was completely sober (fortunately) at the time, but she said in California it's still considered a DUI--bicycle or car.
I was trying to get a word in edgewise to ask me why she'd pulled me over, since I was sober, and it was still light out (at least it was when she pulled me over), but I think she just wanted to check out my dog.

Despite this stern warning, I've ridden to the store for more hard cider before.

Cycling drunk is dangerous. I have done it some, but I try to avoid it. I generally only have a few drinks, so it isn't an issue. I would much rather ride my bike home after a night drinking than drive a car. The chance of hurting someone else is much lower. Legally, it's a horrible idea.

The last time I intended to get drunk, I took a cab to the bar. Ended up in a foul mood, and didn't drink.

I don't think cycling drunk merits a DUI since you're not driving a 2+ ton vehicle, but it is dangerous and I'd rather sit until I sober up than risk getting myself killed or badly injured.

Back in the '70s, when I was in my 20s and living in Thailand I did it more than I'm proud of. Funny, the more I drank the drunker my bike got. There were nights when it behaved very badly.

I had a heck of a buzz off of a couple pints of a strong ale in vancouver, BC. I had to walk for a bit and then was able to ride.

I've had a handful of "altered" riding experiences through the years. I'm clean/sober now, so I guess endorphins will have to do.

If riding a spinning bike while slightly stoned counts, then yes.

I wouldn't want you you to get the wrong idea, I only did it the once, and it was not... intentional. That is, not blaming anyone else, but i didn't go out with the aim of riding blitzed. Just didn't realize how bad I was until I started riding. I avoid it now.
