on a related note...
what's everyone's thoughts on lens choice?
vented? non-vented?
Polarized, or not?
Color choices for lower light? (yellow, or clear?)
don't own oakleys, but now I'm just curious...

I've have 4 pairs and to me for riding Jawbone>Split Jacket>Radar>Flak Jacket.
The Flak Jacket is my favorite off the bike pair of glasses I've ever owned. It's great for day to day around town stuff. But there's just not enough lens coverage on the bike.
The Jawbone is my favorite on the bike because it has the lens coverage of the Radar and the ear stems are much more comfortable and shorter which is a big deal for my small head. The Radars seem to pinch my temples pretty tightly. The fact that the ear stems are longer means they hit the side of my helmet and can sometimes slip down during rides. I wouldn't say the Radar's aren't comfortable, but they Jawbone's are just more comfortable. As far as the frame, it's a non issue because of the lens coverage. The only sport where I find it's a problem is golf. But on the bike it has honestly never crossed my mind.
Hydrophobic coating and lens changes are all gimmicks IMHO. The Radar and Flak Jacket have the same optical clarity and all seem to get equally coated in sweat if you let them. But the Jawbones are the best cycling glasses for me.

Radar > Jawbone > Flak Jacket XLJ
I have all three sets. The XLJ's are a bit small for cycling but they are excellent glasses. I love the Jawbones but they do block visibility because of the nature of the full frame. But you can change lenses easier than the rest. Just for riding, the Radar's are my favorite.

I've got those in white and gray, and I love them, except for the tiny ass lenses which you seem to have remedied.

I had cheapo Performance glasses that were similar in shape to the Radars and they never fogged up on me a single time. It's the only drawback to the Jawbones but it's rare and clears quickly so I just live with it. Get the vented, though!

Radar Paths
If Lance and Fabian (I think) used/use them, they gotta make me faster too!
Seriously though, I think Oakley's are a GREAT investment. Sure, you can get $20 sunglasses, but they don't provide the clarity in vision that Oakleys give the wearer. My Radars roll water/sweat off, give me even better vision (there is a slight curvature that seems to magnify stuff) and don't get in my way (peripheral view). I sometimes forget I'm wearing them because they're so light too. Clear yellow lens for the night/evening/morning and black Livestrong lens for the day.

but if I would still get a significant amount knocked off if they gave me the full coverage.
I'll check tomorrow and share my findings with the board.

I like the XLJs well enough that I have 2 pair - 1 with the iridium lenses and 1 that I ordered for my bike with photochromatic lenses - which is the way to go for biking

My insurance would pay but many Oakleys have too much curve to the lends to do bifocals and. I wanted to be able to read - so I do contacts with non-prescritive lenses

i liked my flak jacket XLJs a lot, just got a set of jawbones this season and they're a huge improvement on the bike, more lens up top so when your head is low and you need to see in front of you, you can. the vented lenses really rock, been on some chilly rides with them, and I've had no issues with fogging, which was my biggest complaint with the Flaks. lenses are also much easier to swap on the jawbones, and the frame around te bottom keeps crud from popping up into your eye even better than the XLJ lenses on the flak jackets.

Speaking for myself, I can't see how these Radar Paths could be improved on. They did cause me a little pain at first right over my ears where the frame contacts my head, but I have become accustomed to them now and they are comfortable for many hours of wear.
The one question I have for all you knowledgeable folks: do you really have to clean them only with the Oakley-supplied bag if you want to preserve the Iridium coating? Or, would a good-quality microfiber glass cleaning cloth also work?

I rode a flak jackets last year, they have been converted to every day use. I now ride in a pair of split jackets. They fit my face a lot better then the jawbones.

Absolutely love my Radar XL Straight Blades. The clarity is absolutely amazing and unlike anything I've experienced with other athletic and casual shades. Makes riding my bike that much more enjoyable. The permanent hydrophobic lens coating is amazing at what it does. Peripheral field of vision is as good as it gets. These shades could never come off, yet I don't feel them at all. What more can you ask for?
I have other Oakleys that I wear casually, and I like them just as much for their intended purpose. Oakley makes a great product. Worth every penny to me.
