There was one for sale on my parents street a couple of years ago. It was yellow and white, looked like it was in really good condition. I wanted it bad, but my commute at the time was 50 miles a day, my dad talked me out of it.

Speaking of doctors, I was at one this morning, had a DRE (hoo boy).
Anyway, what is the point of the nurse taking your blood pressure as soon as you walk in the room? The reading was 130something, but I know if I'd sat there for a minute or two before she took it, it would have been lower.

I guess you'll absolutely hate this then:
This is in process cold setting a 126mm rear end to 132mm-ish.
From the factory those tubes were straight - I must have spread it out to at least 160mm-180mm before it took the set.
I was at least smart enough to brace the chainstay and seatstay bridges with tie-down straps.

Agree. Unlikely to be real, especially if you were able to keep riding through it! Nevertheless, and assuming your doctor understands how frequent artifacts like this are with HRMs, showing it to her/him is not a bad idea.

I've read around here somewhere that '80s Treks were prone to brake bridge failures, so gotta be careful with them. On my Pinarello, I just started using a 130 wheel by spreading the stays 'til the wheel dropped in. After running a 130 wheel for several years the rear triangle eventually became 130mm.
Coming up on 1k since I cold set it, things seem to be fine so far

I can't remember which years were impacted. There's a C&V guy who used to weld for Trek back then who told tales of bridge problems even when not spread.
I had an 88 trek 400 that I squeezed a 130 wheel in and it survived

Same on the old Puch. Horizontal drop ins, so a quality quick release was also key.

And make sure it's tight. I've popped the axle out of the Old Schwinn dropouts more than once.

Tough day on the lawn today. I spent two hours cleaning up debris from Laura. Then, before I had even boarded the lawn tractor, another rainstorm rolled in and blew even more branches to the ground.
Finally got going, but when I had about half an hour left to go a second downpour hit.
The weather hates me.
