$30 for a Schwinn Mirada with 650B wheels and newish Panaracer Col De La Vie tires in Michigan. I'd buy this for the wheels in a heartbeat.

If you're good with bonded frames this is a goodun for that ultra-cool stem alone.

About 10 minutes in the other direction

Both are in somewhat rough shape and have their flaws. The Bottecchia has some rusty areas. Both are just riders at this point. I've never had an Italian bike. Given their prices and conditions which bike is the better deal?
I ended up with both of these bikes… they both needed work, but between the two I ended up with a nice mostly period correct de rosa. If I would have gotten a ready to ride de Rosa for the price of what I paid for both bike, plus some spare parts, I’d have been ok with that.

Hey, I didn't call it a Serotta. The seller called it that in the ad. Actually, the seller called it both in the ad.

Interesting frame, though, with the high bottom bracket, long chain stays and tall head tube.

I didn't have any real interest in the De Rosa, but some other members did. I was going to take a look for them. I contacted the seller on a Friday afternoon to set up a time, and he didn't get back to me till mid day Saturday. I'd made plans by then, so responded to set up a time for Sunday. The seller wouldn't respond back with a possible Sunday time. Then on Sunday afternoon, he starts sending me responses saying the bike is ready to ride. I went through 3 or 4 days of that, then said F-it.

The Bottecchia looked like it had some rust problems on the TT and ST. The spot on the lower ST looked troublesome. I was the next person behind you scheduled to see it.

It appears someone bought the bike listed as a "Cinelli" for 3 Benjamins. Hopefully, it'll get posted here so the true identity can be determined. The pump peg was really bothering me. It didn't look right for any bike from that period except for maybe a French one. It was an attractive bike/good rider with some goods parts on it.

the bottecchia rust wasn’t too bad, but it was a mix of parts, and some issues I didn’t even notice till I got home with it and had it torn apart… mainly the spread rear dropout and cracked stem(at the bolt hole in the back side). I hadn’t planned on getting the de Rosa either, but was in Richmond selling vintage clothes and made more than I expected, so messaged the guy and was able meet up.

the de Rosa definitely needed work. Brake lever bodies were cracked bad. Wheels were mismatched. The frame was straight tho, and the drivetrain was solid so I had to take it home. Put a brooks swallow on it and some vintage roval tubular wheels on, and the Veloce aero levers from the bottecchia and it rides amazingly.
