Has Anyone Heard of a Schwinn Sierra Comp?
I picked up this Schwinn Sierra Comp a couple days ago. I believe it is an '89. I can find virtually nothing about this bike. I have not found it in any Schwinn catalogs I have looked at. It is in pretty good shape. I did replace the crappy saddle with a less crappy saddle I had on hand. I had hoped my son would want it but not so. I am not into mountain bikes so I will pass it on. Has anyone heard of this model or owned one?
BTW, I bought this at an online auction for $7.26 including tax and buyers premium.

I just trash picked this one last week!
I’m the process of making it a rail/trail bike to be shared by my wife and daughter.
Let me know if you are moving it on and anywhere close to Philadelphia. Might be fun to have matching bikes!

I am in Minnesota. If you find out anything about your bike please post it here.

Those bikes remind me of the reissued Schwinn Madison but they were later.

I'm sure you've seen this BF thread already. https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...erra-comp.html
Not a ton of information there, either.
You've got this bike for sale at a very attractive price, by the way. Won't be sitting around too long, I expect. I kinda like it.

This would make a stupendously rad drop bar conversion.
And it's the single best price / awesomeness ratio score I've ever seen in my whole life. You literally bought an almost-showroom-new bike for the price of a six pack of beer. If it were mine, which it isn't, and could never be, cuz stuff this cool doesn't happen to me, I'd be unable to sell it just because of the ability to say, in response to "nice bike!", "Oh, what, this thing? Yeah, I bought for like seven bucks."
If you sell this bicycle, the damage to your bikema will be such that your great-great-grandchildren will be paying a thousand bucks for Magnas and Micargis, and cursing your name for all time.

Looks like it sold already. It's an intriguing one.

My great-great-grandchildren won't be disappointed. I will leave them my De Rosa, my two Merckx and my Holdsworth.

I'm noticing that the Tommasini isn't on the list o' bequests...
Presumably because that's the bike you'll be buried with.

(It would be for me... if I had one... but, though I've been lusting after them since the 80s, I'm still standing in the rain, staring through the shop window... someday.)

I am going to put a couple more bikes up for sale in the spring including the Tommasini.
