RAAM on RadioLab

Hi everyone

This month's edition of the excellent show RadioLab has a feature story on RAAM. The show is called Limits and is about how far one can push their body. It starts maybe 5-8 minutes into the show, but the first short story is about cycling and the Ironman.

Here's the link: https://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/. Look on the right side of the page for Limits; you can also get it as a podcast from iTunes.

Best wishes

Christian

blew my mind to hear the story about the winner (forget his name) hallucinating that there are soldiers chasing him. so he tells his crew about the hallucination and they are like; yep there are soldiers chasing us...

it was making him ride fast so why tell him he's loosing his mind

Yes, don't let your (non-cycling) wife listen to this. And definitely don't say things like: "Oh yeah, that happens to some people on the longer brevets/randonnées."

Whoops.

yeah, I had the hallucinations thing on PBP, riding past fields just outside Rambouillet on the way to the controle in Dreux and I imagined that there were feral rabbits the size of wolves pacing me in the tall grass.
