Don't know about chrome Treks, but don't ride it until you make sure the rear QR functions correctly.

Pedal to the medal
judging by the investment cast lugs and lack of eyelets, I'm guessing it's a 5xx or 6xx level racing frame with aftermarket chrome from the late 80's, great bikes. It's pretty freaking cool and while the rust speckles give me some hesitation, I'd be very interested if it were local.
