Date this Specialized Hardrock
I am servicing this older MB for my Grandson. It was purchased several years ago used by my son, and appears to not have had much use. I am hoping that by getting a date placed on it that it will be more appreciated/maintained. I think all the components are original. Sorry about the gargantuan photos, I don't know how to avoid this. Thanks in advance!

Nice time machine you have over there, congrats!
Based on the components (which are original to the bike) 1991 and 1992 for sure, I don't know if was produced later as well with same group. Pics from 1991 Shimano and Specialized catalogs.

An 1992 example, check out the guys' other bikes, looks like he mostly collects these in all sizes shapes and colors.

Thanks for the prompt response. I did some further searches and it looks like a different component set in 93. I can't get over the lack of obvious miles put on a bike that is 30+ years old.

It could be as early as 1990. What is the frame's serial number?

I came from the Est where we would have strangled people for such a bike. In the US its was a nice entry level model, but int this NOS shape its still a gem, hope your grandson will appreciate it.

Should be on the bottom bracket shell.
