Seattle Bike Swap

Hi there, I haven't around for awhile but thought I would post this. The Seattle bike swap is Feb 3rd this year at the old Key arena in Seattle center. I haven't been for about 8 years and this year I am going to be a vendor. If anyone is interested I may have some space if you want to sell something or of course you could drop by say hi and maybe buy something. Anyway just thought I would put this out there.
Have a great day

I won't be setting up, but I'm nearby and ready to dump most everything I have. I'm working on getting everything out to take pictures in the next couple weeks.

I'd love to share some table space. A few bikes, a few frames, a couple wheels, components. A mix of vintage and modern.

I would love to attend, but it's not close enough and it's the wrong time of year to combine it with a vacation.

Heads up, it's not at the "Arena Formerly Known as Key" (now called "Climate Pledge Arena"), it's in the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, 301 Mercer Street.
That's according to the Swap website https://cascade.org/rides-events/bik...bike-demo-2024

See ya there!

Hi there, yes Thank You for the correction of the location. bad habit i guess. Anyway it looks like Mhespenheide will be sharing a space with me. Our space is number 14 near the front middle and on a corner. If you look at cascade bike club bike swap site and click on vendor then you can see the lay out of where we will be. I will have a mix of vintage and newer up to Campy 10 speed era parts, a couple tubular wheels, and a frame. Stop by and say hi I would enjoy meeting other C&V folks.
SeeYa there.

Hey john903 , I'll look for you at #14! 'Saw you last at the Cracked Bean in Sequim....it was a year or more ago. I was riding a Ron Cooper or 3Rensho Allez that caught your eye as you passed by.

Last year I scored nice little bits and pieces but also an entire DA 7900 groupset. I will be there this year too, hunt for parts never stops.

Hi Dean, Yes you were riding your red Allez. I hope to see you there. I have a nice Ambrosio Nemesis and White industries tubular wheelset that would go well on the Ron Cooper.

I'll be there with john903 , sharing space. pnwgopher , are you coming this year? And, if so, are you looking for any frames or bikes?

I didn't do the show this year. I was a little bit annoyed by the upgraded early bird tickets. Pay more to scarf up better goods early? I think its sort of poor form

Someone had a table with a few Campy bits in baggies, including a decent 1.2 Rally derailleur.

Is that person on this?

message me please?

Please remember it's a charity. They do a ton of education, activism, lobbying state government etc. I'm OK with them maximizing income from the event.

From those that I know that went, they gave the impression that it was a buyers market and those that sold and flip sales not so well.

This market has benefited for a long time from the enduring staying power of Campy especially, Cinelli and the like for an unnaturally long time.

Those days are finally waning if not dramatically now that many/most of us want lower grannies, more modern triples and have stashes that will hold us from now on with supply being good as well as stagnate.

Those of us that care are not going out of our way on this like we used to even with buyers market prices.

Last year's meet was much better than this year's is what I felt as I left the venue as far as variety and quantity is considered. An odd one or two interesting items but that's about it. There was one person selling Spesh Allez Sprint frameset in rainbow Trout colorway though and that was fantastic, just too big for me. It didn't get sold, I saw the owner in parking lot putting it back in his car.

Is the bike swap put on by the Cascade Bike Club? bike riders in Seattle are considered a voting block and they are quite influential.

Seattle had a Mayor, Mike McSchwinn, he would always have an I’m cycling photo op showing up for events. I’m not sure he really rode to those or just showed up with his bike. He was never shown riding away only arriving.
