Aaron,

Just a quick wonderment?

Do you ride with your hands on the hoods on the DA levers?

If so, I would agree.

Fwiw I learned many years ago to not use the brakes when riding.

It makes life/riding so much more interesting.

I'd say I'm on the hoods about 80% of the time, and the DA 7400 levers are the worst I've used. Padding them with tape under the hood helps a little, but they're still pretty terrible, and I don't like the blades at all either.

I can see your point, Aaron. They do have a squared off feel to them, which could be a problem if you tend to ride with your fingers spread on the sides of the hoods (I don't). From a purely aesthetic point of view, I am not a fan of the dark gray anodizing on the DA levers either, which is why I stripped & polished mine.

This '85 Raleigh Competition has been up for a while. Looks really clean. My size too...but I already have 5 bikes in the basement (and not a whole lot of extra cash.) Seller would probably take reasonable offers.

Like a narrow rail Kashimax NJS saddle for your hands, form is pretty much following function - but I find that narrow minded approach appealing, in a way. FWIW, I also think they are pretty, at least the non - aero version. Lightweight also

[h=2] 1987 Centurion Ironman Dave Scott Master | Teal Colorway | Shimano 600 - $400 (sunset / parkside)[/h]
Hello,

I'm selling my 1987 Centurion Ironman. This is an extremely rare year. The "Master" designation was first introduced in 1986, (when they introduced the 1987 bicycles), and Shimano BioPace was also introduced during the same time. This teal colorway was only made for the 1987 models. The bronze tint to the Shimano 600 was introduced for a really short run to celebrate the introduction of Shimano BioPace. This set of Shimano 600 is as rare as the bike itself.

I tried to reproduce the color correctly in the pictures but it looks even better in person. Same goes for the parts. Craigslist reduces the quality of the pictures a lot. If you'd like high quality ones I can provide them.
It rides very smoothly. It is ready to ride as is. The size is 56cm.

I'm asking $400. The size is a little bit flexible, but not by much. If you'd like to see it, ask any questions, feel free to call/text me at (415)866-4330.

You could do a hell of a lot worse than that for $30. Looks like forged drops, Weinmann alloy rims, and a decent crankset.
