1987 Bill Holland now ready to roll but not me
An impulse buy on this frame set 5 years ago from @shnibop , I started to build it up this past month as a diversion while I recover from a pretty bad bike crash at the end of September. Following Dr’s orders, I won’t be able to road test it until February.
Better photos later this week when the weather clears.
Here is a quick peek at what I got:

It is a 1987 Bill Holland, beautiful paint by Joe Bell. Both have worked together for many years in San Diego. Bill no longer works in steel, his titanium bikes are works of art and he now is producing frames in Carbon as well.

The paint is luminescent, the chrome in great condition. There are some chips in the paint in a few places but from a few feet away it shows pretty nicely.

- Campagnolo 10v Drivetrain with Down Tube Shifters
- Campagnolo Chorus Wheelset w/Veloflex Record 25mm clincher tires
- Dura Ace Seatpost and Headset
- Gearing 36/50; 13-26
- Nitto NP Stem and type R bottle holders
- Soma Handlebar
- IRD Brake Levers
- Shimano XTR pedals
- Flite Seat
- Specialized Bar Tape (I’m not too thrilled with my wrapping job or the thickness of the tape but will wait until I’ve ridden it a bit before replacing it with something thinner. Maybe my mind will change).

Beautiful Holland!!!
Remids me very much of my recently completed Davidson.
I'm just really into these American builder bikes now, after having only European bikes, all these years.
There seems to be a lot of similarities between these 80's American custom bikes. Makes me want to look for a Holland too, for a new project!
Classy understated beauty these bikes have are just so different from the Euro C&V bikes.
Remids me very much of my recently completed Davidson.

Until Bill Walton got his Holland I was not aware of Bill Hollands work. I'm glad I found this one a few years ago. I agree with you on the Joe Bell paint, it is simply amazing.

Thanks for the comments. @Chombi1, The resemblance is more than consequential. Bob Freeman for those who aren't familiar with him, used to be co-owners of Elliot Bay Bicycles with Bill Davidson. He remarked that the lugset on the Holland was designed by Bill Davidson. Look at your Davidson seat tube Lug. They are the same. Also, your fork crown looks like mine
I forgot to mention that the Gugieman also re-spaced the Rear to 130mm so I could run 10 Speed clusters.
It was cold and clear this morning so I drove over to the local park for some pictures in natural lighting. The local elk herd didn’t mind too much. In fact, they were downright indifferent to my interruption.

Looks like Bill Holland sourced his signature decal from the same decal maker that Bill Davidson did, and the quality of the paint looks similar.....
The deeply scalloped seat stay caps looks to be the same too, except for the pantograph on the Davidson....
