Learn something new everyday?
Sometimes it is not one day, but a few years.
I'm riding today in my more robust rain jacket, it's much warmer today than recent cold temps so I unzip my pit zippers.
On this day I do so with one hand on the bar hood due to my new bar mitts.
The bar mitts are a recent purchase.
I usually sit up and straighten my zipper pit hands free.
Being that my arms are shorter than the industry standard means that I require tension on my arm sleeve to allow for the zipper to open/close.
Well today, 3-4+ years later, I can meet my desire by keeping one hand on the bar hood and grabbing the other pit zipper, pull with my free hand and the zipper works.
The arm pit zippers were designed for a rider not quite my style.
DUH.
Slow on the draw here, but still learning year after year.

Puzzling likely due to poor wording.
The point I was trying to make is that it took me 3-4 years to figure out how best to open and close my pit zippers on my rain jacket.

I have no idea what you are talking about! However, I have been riding bikes for 50+ years, in 3 out of 4 seasons In Wisconsin.

Just joking with you! I think we all have had one of those "why didn't I think of that" moments.
Last year, I was throwing out paper plates and thought: "someone needs to invent a reusable version of these". A split second later I realized that I thought I invented the "Dish"!

I once had a great idea for a way to determine the temperature. See, you fill a bottle with liquid and make marks on the glass so you can see how much the contents have expanded or contracted from exposure to heat or cold.

I think I get it-
Like you used to think you'd have to grab your sleeve to maintain tension to pull the zippers on your armpit ventilation zippers...
But you've figured out that you don't have to.
My Columbia jackets that have pit zippers have 2 pulls. I put them in the center so I can pull "down" to open half the armpit super easily.
