1983 Miyata 912 frame/fork
I got this bike from PO who had badly neglected it. I’m guessing no maintenance since new, ever. I really only needed the wheels so I’m parting the rest.
1983 Miyata 912. 56 ctc DT and TT. Its a good frame with lots of “garage patina”. The PO was not a careful person, did not love the bike. You can treat the nicks and stains on the paint and wax or repaint. I doubt you’d be faulted. All is straight and true so its worth the effort. The 912 was in Miyata’s Semi Professional tier. Double butted Chromoly tubes all around the frame and Hi-ten fork. See:
Ragandbone Miyata catalogs for the 1983 catalog that Ragandbone.ca has posted on their site. Great that they have and thanks to them
As you can see from the last photo, I’ll get it well protected and packed. Note: the foam is just on loose for the photo. It will be all zip tied down for shipping, DO braces on fork and rear.
Also note the black band on the top tube is just to protect the paint from the steel hook the bike is hanging from. Not concealing damage or sadness. Please let me know if you need other pictures.
$75 plus shipping. Not shipping outside CONUS right now. PP F&F or add 4% for fees. Shipping from Pottstown, PA

Bump. I did a test shipping estimate. For a 1000 mile trip the shipping is around $60, UPS ground including $200 insurance.
make offer.

Bump - because it’s autumn, when a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of projects in the winter to come. This would be a good un.

“Previous owner”. A not uncommon acro.
* “acro” = acronym
* “acro” = acronym

PO= previous owner is my guess. I’ve got a 710 from the same year and if I wasn’t broke, I would have picked this up when you first listed it. Unfortunately I’m still broke. GLWS

^^^^ I don’t know. The bike came with a Shimano 600 Arabesque group. If you can tell me what to measure I can do that. My bikes are all clamp on shifters so I’m not smarted up on this topic.

It looks like this frame does have the “b-type” Shimano shifter bosses, since they have a round base and the forward-facing tab. Here are a couple of threads discussing how to file a normal cable housing stop to make it fit if you want to move away from downtube shifters.

Seems like it would be a pretty easy fix to allow brifters or bar end shifters. For what it’s worth, I have a similar frame (Univega Competizione) that rides like a dream, and certainly worth the small effort to make it work.
Good luck with the sale!

Thought this came with 27” wheels so might have big time tire clearance but see that it came with 700 x25’s
