Needs to be completely enclosed or, what appears to be an attempt at aero will instead be a big air catcher.

+1 to you for not replying to my honest comment with a "F*ck Y**!"

I am eager to see a recent, aka, complete project picture.

No worries, that's one of the several common reactions.

Honestly, I'm not guessing about whether it works or how well. I've measured the drag, used it for a year and know pretty well what the characteristics are. A full enclosure is indeed more aero and is tempting especially when it's raining, but suffers from some drawbacks if you try to apply it on a diamond frame.

I'll post a picture of my winter model and even test graphs if anyone's interested, but I'm more curious about the general attitudes of the "alt" crowd.

My Mt. Fuji tall bike recently repaired. I dumped it on a clean (no blood) dismount but I landed on the non-d crank arm and the rear wheel BETWEEN the spokes and the hub, 6(!) broken spokes. The frame cracked in 4 spots, photo is after re-weld and repaint. This will be ready for the MSBike here in SOFL tomorrow.

More pics coming of the finished repair, rebuild.

I got hold of the frame from a LBS and was classified as a motocross bicycle frame. Luckily I have several parts for the size of the frame and here it is after some modifications on the frame.

Strange conglomeration. I looks like a cross between and old school folder, a mini cruiser, a a minit mountain bike. Cool!

Yes the shock works, in fact I'll be looking for a more heavy duty replacement since I'm 230 lbs.. For a 150 lbs the spring is perfect.

Trying something new. I'm still tweaking it but I figured I wouldn't get it right the first time. I took notes from a friend in Amsterdam who knows a lot more about them than most. Still working out the "rules of thumb" .

Dog's name is Thunder and he likes the ride. This bike is for a neighbor and her dog. I must make another for myself, they are such a cool ride.

Nice, classic look! Are you going to varnish it or lacquer it nice? You did a very nice job, congratulations, you learn well.

We are adding a wood fender to give it a vintage look trying to keep the fish krate look going. She, the owner, will varnish it and in a few years it will darken up. I also have to mount a traveler on the inside front near the bottom to clip a short leash to keep her dog in and safe. My Pug is a pro at this biking and he sits in there just taking in the ride.

I also have to beef up the tubing to make it stiffer. I'll update later.

Sorry for the dark and fuzzy pictures. I'm planning to paint the bike flat black and put the fenders back on, which I painted flat black as well. Any other suggestions or ideas?

If you are thinking of a cruiser, you definitely need to check out the rides at ratrodbikes.com for ideas on how to trick one out.
I love that site and have been stockpiling parts and bikes to do a few rat rod builds.

here's a bike i got off kijiji last year. the first pic is from the ad the guy posted when he was selling it, the other 2 were taken after i did some fixin' up to it. i have no idea what make or model it is, it has no markings except the serial number which has still left me wondering what kind of bike it is.

Hi all.

I have project one ready for pics and started riding her around the neighborhood today.

I got this bike off Craigslist for $50 in great condition. Previous owner kept it stored in the garage.

Jesse James WCC. I took off the gas tank and chain guard, swapped out the handle bars, added some skull handle grips, and upsized the front tire to a 24".

When I picked it up.

Today.

Project 2 is a Six3Zero In The Barrel, 3 speed beach cruiser. I am currently looking for chopper forks for it although I was told by a couple bike shops that I won't find a direct bolt on set for that model bike. The steerer is only about 4 to 5 inches and most of the forks i have seen online have steer tubes around 8 inches.

If anyone knows a good vendor who might have something in the 5 to 6 inch realm, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Still not complete, but rideable. How do you like my entry into the Rat Rod Bikes.com Build Off #6.
I call it BEER RUN. The skateboard is the seat. Low and Slow.

Here is the latest on my BEER RUN Rat Rod Utility Bike

How do you like my BEER RUN utility bike? I am building it as part of the Rat Rod Bikes Build Off #6.
The skateboard is the actual seat (with the option of putting a normal seatpost and seat if wanted).

You can see more on the bike at:
