It's sunny and 65 but I'm tired, possibly a side effect fom an antibiotic for treating an insect bite. I also took a wicked shot to upper guad yesterday while working around the house. Due to those factors and the inability to HTFU, I'm not riding today. Watching our national past time on the TV.

So my dog is 16 years old. I have talked about her before, she has a bad skin allergy so she stinks like death all the time even after giving her a bath. She started having seizures a couple months ago. First one was after chasing a rabbit, and she would have them sporadically whenever her heart rate got too high. So we have used caution with her being outside, to make sure she doesn’t run. Her groomer informed us last time we picked her up she wasn’t comfortable washing her anymore. She didn’t tell us she had a seizure, so my wife washed her yesterday, and she had a seizure while she was washing her. Pretty sure that’s why the lady doesn’t want to groom her anymore.
This morning at 4 am she had another seizure while I was getting ready to ride. She has been breathing weird all day.

Is it possible that my Emonda is faster than my Domane? They are virtually the same spec -
Emonda 1pound lighter
Domane 12 speed Ultegra Di2 vs. Emonda 12 speed 105 Di2
Both have Trek carbon wheels with comparable depths
Emonda has 5000 TLS 25mm tires vs. Pirelli Race TLR SL in 28mm
Domane has ceramic BB while Emonda is stock
Sometimes it just feels faster, but I don’t have any imperial data. Might be that sometimes I just feel faster, and just coincidentally I’m on the Emonda. 🤷🏻♂️

Sorry to hear that. My previous dog had skin issues, and then heart failure not long after. We kept him comfortable as long as we could, but it got to a point where a good day was getting rare and there just wasn't anything else to be done. He was a good dog.
We went about 4 years before we got our current dog, who thankfully is young and sweet with no issues.

today’s ride was a fail even by recently already reduced standards. woke to thick fog, which was a nice change. headed south rather than north due to the ongoing fleet week activities. big mistake.
had 68 miles planned, but the key trail segment to make the loop was closed. from there began some very crummy suburban roads, a few nice segments of recently built / upgraded bay trail on a new flood control / sea level rise levee, and then a brutal slog into what would have been 25 miles with a consistent 15-20mph headwind. there was no tailwind on the way “down.”
i called it at mile 51, ate some french fries, and took a train home.
it was such a promising start … heart rhythm was solid, beautiful weather.

We had one dog Rocky that passed pretty peacefully in the night with no major ailments. Was deaf, could hardly see, but knew his way around the place. Wasn't visibly in pain. One day, he just stopped eating, put himself to sleep at night, and didn't wake up.
We've also had another dog disappear, another one eat gopher poison (that my dad planted), and another one get viciously mauled and died hours later. That one was rough. My parents live on an un-fenced acre and tend to pick small to medium sized dogs. It's the call of the wild out there.
