Thanks! Warmer than I'd have liked - cold on the way there but warmed up to 50* by the start and then up from there. Elevation +217 -164, profile is ugly with a starting descent and then uphill from 2.5miles to the finish. Net elevation gain due to finishing west of the start. However, running form metrics were outstanding and it's another big step closer to where I was. Today is a sore and stiff day though.
I’d take 50 at the start any day. Last one I did it was 70 and full sun with 365 feet of climbing/descending. It would have been fun but I had a pair of shoes that weren’t for me, got a terrible stabbing pain in my foot and had to stop and take my shoe and sock off and sit for a couple of minutes every little bit. It added about 5-7 minutes to my time, which put me at 49:45 or something like that. I ended up 10th I’m 40-49 AG, winner was under 40 minutes

Not sure what happened to Zeke. It just seemed like defenses had him figured out and he could never get going like he did earlier.

I’m sick again. I think it’s just a continuation of being sick now for like a month. Cough, congestion. Thought it was just allergies but today it took a turn for worse. Cough got worse, congestion got worse.
I swear I have been sick more times this past year than my whole life.

I wouldn't blame the whole thing on Dak. Yes, he had problems last night but I always thought he was the real deal. Maybe he was never as good as I thought he was.

Nice zebra motif on the winning bike though:

I have no experience w those boutique/fancy brakes. Probably lighter than Shimano. I'd be impressed if the stopping power was as good.

I have been. My usual line to mrs datlas is “all the guys here are gay or whipped.”
I consider going there my husbandly duty also, but I can usually finagle one of those cinnamon buns as a reward for my patience.

Heading back from Culver City. We did the famous stairclimb up to the top of Baldwin Overlook. Not quite cycling content, but close enough.
I tried to post my pano from the top, but apparently file too big. Settle for this.

Now you're just being obnoxious with the Philly gear. BTW, they are giving the Braves an ass beating. Can't say I mind. Philly pitcher Zach Wheeler grew up very close to where we live and he grew up a Braves fan. The more you know.

We are currently enjoying watching the Phillies on the outdoor sidewalk of a sports bar on Broadway and Ocean Ave in downtown Santa Monica.

What surprised me was how spread out they were late in the race. Also, Wout Van Aert crashed early and passed riders for hours to get back in the top ten.
