Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Whoops. My girlfriend just mentioned that the photo looks like the aim was to get the crotch, and not the view of the road behind. Photo removed to protect peoples sensibilities

That's 28.4 MPH on the flat. It was taken on Thanksgiving (about 25F deg.) last year. It's not your grandfather's recumbent either.

Here are my road bike and my fixed gear. I was cleaning the bikes in the backyard today and thought they deserved a photo. I wasn't moving when I took the shots but I did snap the fixed gear one while doing a trackstand in slippers so that should count for something.

The speedometer hasn't worked in a year and I am in no rush to fix it. The dinosaur, he's just cool.

Riser and Oury grips. mmmmm.....

Not sure how I'm going to follow the previous post - but as promised here's the dashboards of my two bikes:

The Road Bike

The Mountain Bike

Pictures kinda suck - it's still early in the AM here and the sun is at a pretty bad angle for photos.

Interesting. One computer on the left and one on the right.

Also, from looking at all of the pictures it seems like the norm to put the computer on the right side.

Just some pointless observations.....

Damn. I was going to be all clever and post my Tiger dashboard, but people have already beaten me to it.

Maybe I'm splitting hairs here, but wouldn't a more appropriate title be "cockpit" as opposed to dashboard?

mscycler, how do you like your ITM Wing? I've never tried wing-shaped bars, and was wondering how they felt. Specifically, do your hands slide around on the tops without bar tape? My hands sweat profusely.

Here's mine:

I almost wrecked though...This was one of the ones I took of my dashboard while riding my century yesterday. I was in a paceline...taking pics of my bike and everyone else, and then, the guys in front start braking...luckily, I looped the camera strap over my wrist before I took the shot. Otherwise, the camera wouldve been toast as I reacted to the braking by going to my bars to get out of the way.
