WTB Campagnolo Record Ultra Carbon Ergopower Left Front Brake Lever/Shifter
GOT ONE! Thanks to all for info and offers.
Cheers!
Hello all,
I posted a request for help in another section of this forum. I do not work with Campy very much, most of the bikes I repair are old school (wonderful) with Shimano and Suntour mechs. I am looking for
For a student here @ UCSC who wants to ride for the bike team. He found a nice older Specialized 9 speed with all Campy parts in fair to good condition. Only thing is the left shifter is broken. At first I though just the lever had broken off, but now realize that the lever not only is broken but the shifter no longer functions. From a web search it looks like they may be problematic. SO should I replace with an older used original, OR can I just substitute any ole Brifter or an STI for the front 2 ring derailluer. Cosmetically yes an issue, but functionally? The student fellow is keen to ride and this is his first drop bar bike but has limited funds. He paid $550 for the bike. Photos of bike, broken shifter just for you entertainment.

Cheers!

"For levers 2009 and later, we can only replace the whole shifter mechanism as a "pro kit."
But thanks, great to have that link as a resource. Spagetti Legs, from this forum, has turned me onto a great fellow who will repair these shifters for a minimal fee. LUCKY me, and I am sending him both shifters to get them overhauled. The kid on the bike team deserves at least that.
Cheers!

Glad you found a solution. Those levers are older than 2009.
I have rebuilt both sides on 3 sets. Branford also does a great rebuild job too.
