MKS GR-9 dust cap removal?

I’ve searched but not found the answer to this.
How does one remove MKS GR-9 pedal’s grey dust cap (not the same as the silver one on Sylvan pedals)? Is it ”pry off” or ”screw off” and if so, how?? Thanks! 🙏

I hope that the above link will help.
The pedals look like a good choice for my road bike. I have the touring version of these pedals. I would think that these pedals would allow me to use soft sole shoes. Is it necessary to use toe clips with these pedals?

It's designed as a single-side pedal (shoe contact on only one surface), so toeclips are advised. You can use them without, but you stand a 50-50 chance of your foot landing on the wrong side of the pedal, meaning less support for your shoe and less grip to keep your shoe in place on the pedal. The GR-9 has a broad tab to facilitate shoe entry into the toeclip, so it's easier to get into the clip than with pedals having tiny tabs or no tabs at all.

MKS AR-2 Ezy pedals use similar (if not identical) caps. I've been able to remove them by prying, starting with a knife blade, then using a small screwdriver.
The way they're made, with those four holes, sure makes them look like they should have a tool to unscrew them. But they don't.

You'd think there was a tool to get these off...
