4iii 105 R7000 left side crank pic with ruler
I've got a 2018 Trek Emonda SL5 size 58. Wanting to get the 4iii 105 R7000 175mm left side crank power meter. Its going to be a tight fit. I printed their sizing guide but it is close, anyone have this actual crank with pictures and a ruler they could send, so I could better determine or have this combination with it already working by chance. thanks

I have the actual crank but the older 105 5800 series on my emonda ALR and it is a close fit but never had problems. My emonda is the 2018 model of that matters.

Thanks for the insight.. Mine is also the 5800 series. From Shimano website I can use the 7000 as it is interchangeable. Good to know it worked for you on similar.

If it causes any concern, I recently added 2x 0.5mm spacers to give my crank arm power meter a little more clearance. Didn't have any issues.

If you don't have the extra spindle length sticking out either side of the BB then you can't add spacers. At least not if you want the crank arm's stopper plate to be properly engaged.
I thought 4iiii also said to use a AAA battery to gauge if you will have enough clearance and specified how far out on the crank to be checking with that AAA.
I'm reasonably confident that Dura Ace, Ultegra and 105 pedals of all series (current and recent past back to 2016) have the same clearance on the backside of them as any other in those same series. Profiling on the outside is about all that changes along with materials, weight and maybe the insides.

I would put a small patch of protection film on the chain stay to prevent any witness marks appearing. Mine has about the same static clearance and it did rub slightly when deflected in anger. I didn't feel it when riding, but it did leave a small scuff on the chain stay.
