2013 CAAD 10 5 Brakes
Recently purchased a 2013 CAAD 10 5 and after swapping out the saddle with a Specialized Romin Evo Comp, I've been pleased with one exception. I feel that the brakes aren't as effective in dry conditions (don't no wet yet) as I would like. Are there known issues with the stock Tektro R580 brakes or brake pads? Any other suggestions?

Change the calipers for an extra 20%.

Never did figure that out. The dork disc doesn't really bother me, and with the lunatic drivers in CT, reflectors are not a bad idea. Besides, at 230 Im not exactly concerned about lightweight accessories. Next couple weeks will be figuring out right fit - shop did a good job, but you need to get some time on it to dial it in properly.
The "frame and chassis" have been fixed, now it is time to work on the engine!
Have to give props to Outdoor Sports Center in Wilton, CT for the purchase. They really spent the time, weren't pushy, and really knew their stuff.

If you upgrade calipers make sure they match your cable pull ratio of the 5700 levers. TRP while being the higher end line for Tektro is nothing like the base tektros and I really like their products.

Didn't get a single response in the Hot or Not thread so I guess it's that bad. But I changed the bar tape to green and apart from my hideous yet comfortable saddle, I love it. So here's my lovely (to me) CAAD8 6
Edit: Actually did get a response so never mind on that one

Heck, I like it!! And I do like the green bar tape. Wheels look nice, and as long as you don't eat your front teeth, and you enjoy 'em, COOL!!!

I'm typically a flatlander (riding in northwest Ohio), but based on the comments here I'd probably swap out the pads before the next trip with hills.

The CAAD and synapse are aluminum. So the ride isn't suppose to be as smooth as carbon but that's debatable. The CAAD has a " race" geometry but plenty of people in this thread have gone on longer rides and claim to be relatively comfortable. The synapse has a more "relaxed" geometry for endurance/long distance riding. My knowledge of the supersix is limited and I only have negative (personal) opinions of their new low end carbon frames so hopefully someone else can help you there. I test rode a CAAD and will be purchasing one soon for my all of my riding needs. I think It's more versatile than the synapse and since I can only afford one bike (for now), I'm going with the one that fits me the best, does what I want it to do and (most importantly) puts a big dumb smile on my face!

Here is my 2013 Silver and Black and my 2012 White.
I posted the white one before but I added the SLK crank. I bought but have not installed the GP 4000s tires for the white one. I've only had the black one for a couple of weeks. The only changes I made to it are the K-Elite wheels and the Dura-ace brake pads. I also adjusted the angle of the seat.
Oh, that's just a decal on the head tube.
