I've got this listed on the local CL for $60 thinking that it may come in handy seeing as how we are getting hit with snow right now, but since nobody seems to be interested in an all-original 1993-4 (-ish?) GT All-Terra with Ishiwata....
You know what? I'm keeping this bad boy and turning it into a fun winter project for myself ! (I was honestly hoping nobody would bite on it. The little lady cant acuse me of not trying )

That looks like 1988-89 to me, 1990+ had u brakes on the seat stays.

I'm glad that you mentioned the brakes. It definitely didn't see much use and I'm pretty impressed with the way that it rides. All of the components work well and if my (very fuzzy) memory serves me, the older GT's were pretty good bikes and they weren't $$ cheap back then either were they?
Not sure how it would compare to say, a Trek 950, but it feels like at least a good quality MTB....
I'm trying to find some quick on/ quick off fenders for it as the roads are a nightmare around here...

Here are a couple of not too vintage Treks.They make great city/urban go anywhere bikes.They are obviously not period correct.The 950 is 1992-1993-the last of the lugged made in USA frames,I think.
The 800 is chrome Moly-the entire main frame.This probably makes it mid 90's-the Trek 800's were cheaped down to seat tube cromo a bit later.

I unpacked the the late 80's Stowe mountain bike tonight - most of the parts were junk accepts cromoly black handle bars and a campy anodized BMX gray headset. At his point planning on a modern build with:

RaceFace Turbines
Pre Scram Avid Speed levers
XC Pro's - brakes - I have Cunninghams but my local bike say they are a pain to adjust.
LX Pods

Frame was straight no dinks - but it needs a paint job and an worrried about the decals

Just stumbled across a Haro Impulse. Strange frame. Top tube bends up to meat the seat tube. No down tube as such, but there is another tube that runs from the headtube to the rear hub. Sort of like an upside down mixte. Another way to describe it is that has a raised chainstay (chain can be removed without breaking the chain) that runs all the way up to the head tube.

What is this thing?

I think you can still get the originals...if I recall correctly someone said that Stowe still had a stash. I also think that the super-compulsive restoration of vintage lightweights hasn't affected the mountain bike world much...build it to ride and don't worry too much about how it was. [he says while wondering if he can afford a pair of mavic triple cranks for the MB-zip in the garage...]

This isn't anything fancy.It is a Hardrock-18 speed-Cromo frame-probably 1990 or so vintage.
It is one of my Ebay buys.I buy-fix them up,and sell them.Strictly a hobby.I like to ride different bikes,and then put them back in service.Doubt I make $15/bike,and I generally spend >3 hours per bike.
This one will probably sell to a college student-probably female.Most of my steel framed mtb buyers are students.I specialize in cromo framed-MTBs-they make great urban bikes.-(not that there is anything wrong with aluminum-just as asthetic choice,and I can advertise that they give a slightly better ride).

ahhhhh!!!! nuts!!! i wish i saw this post before i sold my old ride. a 1993 Bridgestone MB-3. and i deleted the pics after i sold it. it was in great shape too, i had switched out some parts when i got it, like the bars, stem, put a specialized fs fork on it, brakes and put grip shift on it too. i should have kept it but it was just collecting dust so i sold it to a Harvard student. figure he'll put some good miles on it even tho i had too.

This is an old Ironhorse Dualie. It just won't break.

Everything about it is so 'wrong' but it works for me. Its steel - wrong. Its dual suspended - wrong. It has 7-spd STX and Gripshift - wrong. It has Spinergy Rev-Roks - MEGA wrong.

They'll have to pry this one from my cold dead hands...

Holy buckets East Hill! I thought you were down South somewhere, I didn't know you were up there! Have you ever taken the tour? Is Raleigh USA product fairly respected by the local commuters or MTB crowd? Or is it considered ho-hum?

Here in CO, you rarely see a Raleigh USA from Kent....

I don't know if they have a tour any more...it seems to be just the head office now. The headquarters is just off the Green River Trail (literally--I'm taking the photo from the trail) and on Commute to Work on a Bike day this past year they had a stand set up with all sorts of goodies.

I know I was talking with one of the people (who appeared to be an engineer) and she was enthusiastically telling me about Raleigh making smaller WSD bikes. Unfortunately, I still haven't seen any.

Here's a photo of the Headquarters. Next time on the CWB day I will ask about a tour.

my 1992 Bridgestone MB-6 a real nice rider, all original except for rear 'fender' and i changed out the tires to a smaller size.



1993 Bridgestone X0-3 hybrid. one of my favourite bikes. there were only 3,000 of these made. all original exception is the rear rack and bag., i have the original pedals, it also has the dummy levers and correct stem now. (thanks leigh )

I don't know if it's late 80's or a '90 (??), but it RIPS on the trails, I didn't come in till nearly midnight last night because I didn't want to stop riding it. The Deore LX derailleurs are still wonderful...And how could I not love the ride of Tange Infinity Double Butted!

Oh Man! That is AWSOME! I don't know why, but that '83 Indian really jumped out at me when I was scrolling down to the Nug's bike. Very cool site. I'll bet some of those are worth a few bucks ehh?
