Greetings from Finland
I am a retired Datawarehouse specialist. This means that my daily job was mainly sitting on front of a monitor. It did nothing to help to prevent me from growing horizontally.
Now that I am retired I have more time for physical activities including cycling.
I also do metal working and run a YT channel called Finno Ugric Machining.
I look forwad to see new ideas in this forum.
I also hope to share some of my knowledge on metal working here.
Finnish south-coast has a wonderful geology and has some of the best cross-cycling treks that I know of. This all is sitting right at my back yard. I hope that I can share some of that with You as well.
Thereare not many bicycle related videos in my YT channel. It is mainly machining, food, forest and stuff. Nevertheless, there misgt be something to watch for:
Lacing the spokes of a bicycle wheel using 4X pattern
How to install a Shimano Nexus roller brake to Nishiki 722 cross hybrid bike

Actually not that cold today. Sunshine and top temperature about 15 degrees Celsius (above zero).
That sunshine is very deceptive as it has quite intense UV radiation in it. It is really easy to get sunburn especially with this pale skin.

didnțt imagine you could get sunburn at such low temps :| (of course UV has nothing to do with air temp)

There are several things that enhance the sunlight:
- the ozone layer is thin over polar regions
- the air is indeed very clean thus the radiation does not scatter that much
- the snow reflects the UV which practically doubles the effect
Further more the cold air makes the skin numb which makes it really hard to take notice before it is too late.

Actually, the sun is worst in Lapland in the late winter (March, April). One wouldn't think that sun lotion is needed on face to not to get sunburn.

well at least since it is already cold i guess you can wear like a ski mask so your whole body is covered
nice to start cycling. real fun activity. and healthy. keep it up!
made me curious about the "Lacing the spokes of a bicycle wheel using 4X pattern', need to google that to see how it looks.

How utter amazing it would be to bike around.
Some people win the lottery and are born in truly beautiful places
