Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You might ID it as below. Guess we're past the full moon, but it still looked very large and had an orange hue when I drove home a bit ago.

They're doing prescribed burns south of town so I'm sure some areas in northern Arizona had a moonrise orange AF.

Remember 660 is an eighth. Easy math gives you 1320

Since it was windy again we did the alternate Tuesday route, the one shielded by the mountains. On this route we usually stop at a pizza by the slice place but we got there too early. There was a coffee shop a few doors down which closed some months ago and it recently reopened with new ownership. Lots of baked goods on display, sandwiches, and breakfast burritos ready to go. We had "junior" burritos which were small enough to have during a ride and we were all impressed with the staff and the place. Hope they survive.

Legs are still cooked from the weekend and the ride was harder than it should have been. Riding with 2 e--bikes and a woman who wants to hammer everywhere. they still took it easy on me (sorta).

In other orange news I was getting a little verklempt when Mr. Orange was going to stop wearing orange paint, it sounded like the Mr. Orange era was coming to an end.

He got an orange neck gaiter though...

Heh ... well observed!!

We don't use that (front) porch; we do use the identical one next to it, off the kitchen. Oddly, this is where I don't feel alienated; quite the reverse -- I feel 'at home.' Most mornings, and evenings, it is my custom to sit on the porch staring contentedly into the middle distance, smoking three or four of the six Silk Cuts I allow myself per day, sipping on morning coffee or (p.m.) a double of whiskey.

Tonight (and the last several nights) I have been singing Liliana's name to the tune of "The Trout" by Schubert during evening bath time. I can't tell if she loves the music or the warm water (<-- probably that) but man she eats that **** right up.

We have been listening to the following full orchestral/concerto version during her morning playtime. For those not in the know: the second Youtube video is the primary melody; it's fairly famous.
