Michelin Country Rock
What is the overall opinion of this tire for gravel? Most of the reviews seem to be from people who used then to convert a mtb a a paved path bike. I have 2 hardtail mtb I am thinking of converting 1 to a gravel bike (by converting I mean changing tires). These seem like they should work at 26x1.75. They are also cheap.

I have a pair of these on my old Gary Fisher Aquila turned commuter. Admittedly the bike see's more paved miles than anything else, but the tires hold up well when I do take the bike off road. They roll so much faster than the 2.25" knobbies they replaced, on and off road.
I say go for it. It was a cheap experiment even if they don't work out for you.

They're pretty decent for the price. The tread picks up small pieces of gravel. You can pick those out if you're so inclined or just leave them I guess.
I mostly used mine on pavement and hard packed trails. If your intended rides are going to include looser surfaces, you might consider Kenda Happy Mediums.
