Strange feeling while breathing after a long ride.
I'll make it short.
When I ride for ~50kms or more, when I get back home, I'm 1 or 2 hours with a strange feeling when I take a deep breath. It's like my lungs aren't completely returned to normal. It's really strange. I have no pain or any problem linked to this.
My mom tells me to see a doctor, but as I don't have any problem other than this, I tell myself maybe it's just what happen when you ride and breath hard for 2 hours and a half?
Does anyone know what I'm talking about or know what does this?
EDIT : It always does it, warm air, cold air, always.

It's not normal. I would see a doctor and have your lungs tested. You may need a referral to a pulmonologist.

It could be exercise-enduced asthma. Best to get checked out by a doctor.

This sounds quite plausible, but you should see a doctor.

You live in Canada where you have health care. You have not excuse to NOT see a doctor. I agree with the recommendations to see a doctor.

asking the advice of somebody who has an encyclopedic knowledge of railroad sleeping cars is unlikely to be very helpful here. i would just look for a lung doctor.

My guess would be EIA. But that could be confirmed quite easily by a visit to a Dr and subsequent test.
I've been there, done that with that test, and I've got EIA.

I looked some info about it, it could be it. I'll see if I can see a doctor. I won't stop riding for this though

But this may stop you from riding ... or at least slow you up. Mine started out quite mildly, and for several years I managed ... and then all of a sudden it got much worse.

I've heard that referred to as "Crit Cough". I get it also...after a long ride with heavy exertion, you go to take a breath and it triggers a cough...although I don't feel congestion...it's a dry cough in the throat. It goes away pretty quickly for me. I remember watching a post-stage interview with Christian Van de Velde a few years ago. He'd take a breath to answer a question and cough...basically before every sentence.

I'll get a little hoarse and a little "ticklish" feeling in my trachea after riding hard. It feels kinda like it's a little irritated and dried out from all that heavy breathing and goes away in an hour or two. I've had this 30+ years without any issues.

That sounds like one of those kinda problems that, if you let it go and don't see a doctor, eventually, you will never ever experience anything quite like it, or anything else, ever again!

I don't cough after my rides, so it may be a very light symptom of EIA that I have. It's just the air entering wierd in my long when I take a deep breath. Glad to see some more people have this though, I'm not the only one!

I get this whenever i start back up riding again in the spring. It lessens as spring progresses. I've never had it checked out, and always attributed it to breaking up the resin in my lungs.

Sounds like EIA (exercise induced asthma) - possibly, specifically, CVA (cough variant asthma) which doesn't always manifest itself in a cough - just a constriction of the lungs. Google them, to see if the symptoms match yours.
I have this - fortunately it does not affect me while I'm riding - it only hits me afterward. This symptom was always with me to such a small extent that I thought it was normal. But it got worse with age.
I've been given an inhaler, which helps a lot.
That's what I did. Trust me - go and see a pulmonologist and get checked out properly. And tell him/her that the medical experts on Bike Forums have already done the official diagnosis

Haha thanks, and he/she will just say, Oh you got an official diagnosis. Here's what you need, get outta here! Anyway, I'll get an appointment as soon as I can and get this checked out. I already looked the symptoms and some of them match.
