Schwinns from England
Just got these two Schwinns. They are from Nottingham, England. The Brooks saddles are post mounted. They are both Sprites. Both lightly used and well kept. What do you think of them? I thought maybe I could use the Brooks' on another bike if nothing else.

the S5 rear hub and shifters on the green one are rare items. Should have a date code on it

They look to be in pretty nice shape.

The green mens bike is badged Marfield. Branded and sold by Marshall Field stores, Chicago. For some that may have added value.

I am going to clean them and ride them and love them very much.
Unless someone wants to buy them and give me a bunch of money.

Look at a bigger cog on SA hubs for friendlier gearing. I run a 21T. Any for a 3 prong driver works.

...I rode 3 speed Raleigh products (under various names, and in an assortment of liveries), throughout my college years at U Md College Park.
They were cheap and ubiquitous in the local thrift stores, because everyone wanted a ten speed derailleur bike.
I can recommend them as excellent transportation around the average town or city. And they come with fenders pre-installed, so very practical in the rainy season. I commuted to my ship, when in the navy, on one. Until some dreadful lowlife stole it, when we were in the Charleston shipyards for an overhaul. So you do still need to lock it up.

S5 is an excellent hub. Five evenly-spaced gears, with a 21T cog you get something 38-85.
The big weakness is the shifters--the plastic ones break.
