I wish I could purchase cycling clothes without trying them on. According the chest width, I am a small. According to inseam (I realize it is for a different type of gear) I am an XL. I take a chance with cheaper clothing, but I am hesitant for anything over $50.

I just use the sizing chart from a current kit that fits well and try to match up the numbers. For things like helmets and gloves, I'll buy them in the store the first time around to get the fit right. Usually, a medium sized Giro helmet will fit just like any other style medium sized Giro helmet.
